Winter Wonderland

We made our way off the mountain today so we took some pics of the beauty we were able to see. When you get off the mountain you realize that your living in a whole different world when it comes to the weather on top of the mountain. There are lots of pics so set back with some hot chocolate and enjoy.

Cold!

Just wanted to share some pics from this morning. It is cold at the camp! But oh so beautiful as always.

Happy New Year

Well it looks like a cabin, our camera is broke as in it won't work so some of the pictures are from our phones. Not the best but better than nothing. Hope you enjoy the pics. Fire Stick aka the bottom of the new cabin, hey I don't make the names:) is a storm shelter. So now we have two storm shelters if needed and we all hope that they will only be used for boys to sleep and do what ever else it is boys do during camp. Shower I hope!

Sorry for the lack of post, we have been so busy. We will be trying to get some new pictures on as soon as possible. We continue to ask for prayers for our work here at the camp.

Update

Well there have been lots of things taking place since the last post.
We are preparing for our first week of camp. The summer staff is here and working hard to get camp ready. Cabins have been cleaned, bath houses have been pressure washed, the kitchen has been scrubbed from top to bottom, the horses have new shoes, and weed eating and mowing have been going on in between the rain. If you have ever been at camp when we have been low on water then you know that we aren't complaining about the rain. However the rain has delayed the completion of the pool and the new boys cabin. Everyone has been working as hard as they can to have these projects completed. Much of the work has taken place while it was raining, of course it's hard to poor a new bottom for a pool when it has four feet of water in it.
But swimming and even a new cabin are not why folks come to Short Mountain Bible Camp. There is something about coming up that one lane mountain, and driving through the gate that puts a smile on your face. Camp is an opportunity to spend time with friends that we haven't seen since last year and to make new friends this year. If you have ever been to camp then you know that the best part about camp is not the pool, the horses, the food, or even the canteen. The best part of camp is the opportunity to study God's word and worship with others.
If you have ever had the opportunity to watch the sun set from the top of Short Mountain Bible Camp and the only sounds you hear are those of the birds singing and the wind blowing then you know why you come to camp every year. We are so blessed.
